Flight by Chuck Black

๐ŸŒŒFlight by Chuck Black๐ŸŒŒ

Book 2 in the Starlore Legacy series.

Review of Book 1 HERE!

Blurb:

Ancient prophecies promise a future of hope, but who dares face the wrath of a powerful tyrant?Daeson seeks the counsel of the oracle that propelled him into a life of ruin and terrifying adventure. But the ruthless Chancellor Lockridge offers no quarter to his life-long friend turned traitor. Lockridge’s thirst for revenge spills the blood of thousands of innocent Rayleans, and Daeson bears the burden of global calamity. Rejected by all except the spirited Raviel, Daeson struggles to carry on. When the whispers of the Immortal Ell Yon beckon Daeson to a remote moon of the planet Mesos, he must find the courage to face his deepest fears. Can Daeson trust the words of an ancient Immortal and inspire the slaves of Jypton to rise up? Not only does the future of his people hang in the balance, but the entire galaxy as well!

My thoughts:

Oh my gosh! That cliffhanger ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ.

The only thing I can say to it is: Horrible yet great, because it really makes you want to go to the next book.๐Ÿ˜„

I’ve already read this a few times before, and that cliffhanger still gets me! I loved the allegorical continuation of Moses’s story! The way the author described Ell Yon was incredible; and I feel like Chuck Black wrote Daeson’s conversion beautifully. It was also very interesting to see the past of the Immortals and the allegory through that too.๐Ÿ™ƒ We finally get to see a certain (really important) couple come together at last!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Cough* Daeson and Raviel. Cough*

Also, Tig??? Ok, he’s getting up there in my list of favorite characters in this book. He’s so loyal to Daeson and Raviel; and he’s just that lovable, kind of awkward guy that makes you laugh.

I’m trying my best not to throw spoilers at ya’ll; but man, the twists and turns in this book (especially the ending) were mind blowing. My stomach still dropped when I read this book. It’s like my brain doesn’t remember the traumatic experiences I go through, every time I read a book like this. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Anyways! I totally loved this book; and even though it made my heart break, I think this book is better than the first.๐Ÿ˜

⚠️ Recommended Age: 13+ ⚠️

My rating: 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Age 10-12 rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

(I wouldn’t recommend this book to 10yr olds or even 11yr olds, but it could be okay for 12 yr olds.)

Age 13-14 rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ages 15-16 rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sexual Content:

4 kisses (2 of those very lightly detailed, and the other 2 not-detailed), hand kisses, embraces, and light touches. Nearness and Warmth. A mention of Daeson thinking of how sometimes Raviel would look at him and it rattling him. A mention of Daeson loving being near Raviel, hearing her voice, watching her move, and sleeping next to her. Being in love and the emotions. This book only had a sweet and profitable romance.

Profanity:

None

Violence:

Some slight intense moments having to do with fighting, rebellion, hatred, evil intentions from a man called Lord Dracus, and death. Linden executes 36 innocent people, including [spoiler!] ➡️ Daeson’s adoptive mother. Linden wants the whole Raylean people dead, and wants to kill Daeson. He also has a lot of hatred towards Daeson as the book goes on.

POV’s: Mostly Switches between-

       • Daeson Starlore

       • Raviel Arko (Not frequent)

But we also see a few others POVs.

250 pages

I would recommend this book (after you read the first ๐Ÿ˜‰) if you like sci-fi, allegories, a brush of romance, or hidden truths of biblical doctrine!
