⚔️The Door Within by Wayne Thomas Batson⚔️
Book One in The Door Within series.
Blurb:
There is an unseen world of good and evil where nightmares are fought and hope is reborn. Enter The Door Within.
Aidan Thomas is miserable. Within two weeks, Aidan’s life is completely uprooted as his parents move the family across the country to care for his ailing grandfather. The quiet but imaginative Aidan is struggling with attending a new school and fitting in with a new group of friends. But when he begins having nightmares and eerie events occur around his neighborhood, Aidan finds himself drawn to his grandfather’s basement—where he discovers three ancient scrolls and a mysterious invitation to another world.
No longer confined to the realm of his own imagination, Aidan embarks on an adventure where he discovers a long-fought war between good and evil. With the fate of two worlds hanging in the balance, Aidan faces Paragory, the eternal enemy with unfathomable power. Will Aidan be willing to risk everything and trust the unseen hand of the one true King?
My thoughts:
“The Door Within must open, for one to truly see.”
I did not expect to enjoy reading this book as much as I did! The Door Within really brings you into a world that most kids often dream of, where knights, warriors, kings, dragons, and all sorts of creatures dwell. It also gives a very wonderful allegory of the battles between good and evil, to which we see King Eliam as God and Paragor as Satan.
~* Plot *~
I loved how the story began and how it kept my attention. I was constantly curious and had a dozen questions while reading this book. Most of my questions were answered, thankfully. Although, I did not like how the book ended because it left more questions to be answered! I’m sad, because I don’t have the sequel in hand ☹️… I most definitely will have to order the second book soon. 🙂 Everything- from the Kingdom of Alleble to the battles, and the sweet and funny moments- is an easy peasy 5/5 for the plot for me!
~* Characters *~
All the characters were all done so well by the author! They all showed great character development, loyalty, love, and bravery; and all of it was for their one true King. Aidan, especially, was a great hero; who ,even though, was an ordinary person on the Earth, he was the Twelfth Knight for the King. I felt as though the author wanted to show an example to his readers of how an ordinary person can be called by God to do great things for Him. You don’t have to be this important person, but God just seeing that you believe can use you for whatever gift He has given you.
And lastly I just want to give a shoutout to some of my favorite characters in this book!
💗 Gwenne-our wonderful lady knight
💗 Mallik -he reminded me of King Fergus in the movie Brave lol
💗Captain Valithor- my heart! He was hilarious and stern, but had a huge heart!
~* Conclusion *~
This was my first book that I’ve read by Wayne Thomas Batson and I truly loved it! It’s a good clean book for all ages to enjoy.
I will definitely be continuing this series and reading more of Wayne Thomas Batson’s books!
